SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

PDA Engineers is seeking a senior Electrical Design Engineer with extensive experience in all types of projects including but not limited to tenant improvement projects in office building, restaurants, retail and other commercial projects. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, eager, and able to work on a variety of fast paced projects. 

 

Required education/experience: ​

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineering license preferred).

• 8+ years of experience with technical lead and design experience (especially in tenant improvement projects for office buildings)

• Ability to perform work requiring independent judgment, knowledge of engineering principals, procedures, and code requirements.

• Ability to self-perform all electrical engineering tasks associated with the project from field survey, design / drafting and engineering calculations, to coordinating with clients and other departments.

• Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing, and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls for assigned projects.

• Ability to perform engineering load calculations and Title 24 energy compliance calculations.

• Ability to work with and be supported by other senior engineers for guidance and act as a electrical lead or project lead.

• Ability to work with external team members including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors.

• Solid foundation of design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD software.

• Must be adaptable self-starter, able to problem solve, learn and apply new technologies with minimal support.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with cross disciplinary team members and clients.

• Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines, while also adapting to change.
